Service Life of Zirconia Ceramics

Service Life of Zirconia Ceramics

Zirconia ceramics have a lot of advantages, and now there are more and more industries adopt zirconia ceramics. Such as our water-jet spinning machine industry ceramic jet needle, ceramic plunger, shear blade, and so on.

Industrial ceramics are mainly divided into zirconia ceramics and alumina ceramics. Many people don’t know much about zirconia ceramics. Zirconia ceramics have a lot of advantages, and now there are more and more industries adopt zirconia ceramics. Such as our water-jet spinning machine industry ceramic jet needle, ceramic plunger, shear blade, and so on.

In the actual industrial production, many other enterprises also need to use zirconia ceramic parts, compared with other materials, zirconia ceramic parts have better performance, so how long is the service life of zirconia ceramics?

Zirconia ceramics can generally be used for one year.

The main reason is the death of nitrifying bacteria, although most of the bodies of nitrifying bacteria will be washed away with the current, some remain in the ceramic gap, slowly to the back of the gap accumulated and blocked. The parasitic effect of the ceramic ring will gradually decrease and reach the service life, so it needs to be replaced regularly.

With the passage of time, it will be found that the color of “ceramic” is “white”-“yellow”-“dark yellow”. This is because the impurities in the water have blocked the surface gap of “ceramic”, and even cleaning will not achieve satisfactory results!

According to the different Al2O3 content, alumina ceramics are divided into 99 alumina ceramics, 95 alumina ceramics, 90 alumina ceramics, 85 alumina ceramics, and other varieties. Sometimes the alumina ceramics with Al2O3 content of 80% or 75% are also classified as ordinary alumina ceramics series.

Among them, 99 alumina ceramics are used to make high-temperature crucibles, refractory tubes, and special wear-resistant materials, such as ceramic bearings, ceramic seals and water valves, etc.; 95 alumina ceramics are mainly used as corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant parts; 85 alumina ceramics are often mixed with talc, improve the electrical properties and mechanical strength, can be sealed with molybdenum, niobium, tantalum and other metals, and some are used as electric vacuum devices.

Compared with zirconia ceramics, alumina ceramics have relatively better properties and longer service life.

Although when it comes to ceramic materials, it is often easy to associate them with fragility, in fact, alumina ceramics add special materials, so in terms of physical properties, compared with traditional ceramics, it is much superior. Qualified alumina ceramic products have a high level of hardness and will not be damaged in the case of extrusion and collision. So don’t worry about it, get rid of your stereotypes of new ceramic materials!
